2, Calcium Chloride Dihydrate/Anhydrous   
Cas No.:10043-52-4; H.S. Code: 28272000.00 Calcium Chloride is a white deliquescent
powder which is soluble in water and ethanol, with melting point at 782 C, boiling
point at 1600 C and specific gravity of 2.15. Mono, Di and Hexahydrate forms
are existing. But hexahydrate form loses 4H2O at room temperature. It is formed
as a byproduct of the Solvay process, also called ammonia-soda process to make
sodium carbonate from calcium carbonate and sodium chloride. It is also prepared
by dissolving calcium carbonate or calcium oxide in hydrochloric acid. It is
used chiefly for dust control on unpaved roads and as a roadway deicer. Other uses
are waste water treatment, brine refrigeration systems, tire weighting, concrete
acceleration and as a calcium source in chemical processing. 
3, MAIN APPLICATIONS: 
Technical grade calcium chloride is used in a multitude of applications within a
wide variety of industries. It is used as:
An agent for providing high density clear brine fluids in the oil industry. 
A precipitant for fluorides, sulphates, and phosphates in water purification. 
A safe, secondary cooling agent for hockey rinks and various construction projects.

An additive in concrete to decrease setting time, especially in cold weather conditions.

A dehumidifier and a desiccant in domestic and industrial applications. 
A calcium source in agriculture and animal feed.

Food grade calcium chloride is used in various applications within the food, beverage
and pharmaceutical industries. Some examples of common applications are listed
below. 
In the production of beer and soft drinks, CaCl2 is used as a source of calcium to
regulate the hardness of water. 
In enzyme production, the calcium ion acts as a co-factor in some products. 
In the production of cheese, CaCl2 is used as a source of calcium. 
CaCl2 is also used to increase the firmness of canned fruits and pickled vegetables.

CaCl2 is also used as a secondary cooling agent in various processes that operate
according to food regulations.
